Dave Mustaine was not a fan of Megadeth Cruise at the beginning
Megadeth's frontman, Dave Mustaine, said he was not excited about the idea that the band would launch its own cruise when approaching the Megacruise for the first time.
The thrash metal legend will launch its first cruise next October, which will also feature Armored Saint, Anthrax, Devildriver, Corrosion of Conformity, Testament and more.
He talked about his change of heart during an interview with SiriusXM through Metal Hammer and even floated the idea of having a band of Megadeth that fans can sing on the trip.
He said: "I was not really at the cruise at all at first when we approached this. We had a candle to which we signed and for whatever reason, it did not happen. We regrouped and got a new training and a new perspective towards this material.
"Because I leave and do it with a group of old bands that can not do anything better than reaching a cruise, hey, do you know? I think I will pass. I will not go down and get the $ 2.99 cocktail camera."
Mustaine adds, "If it's something like this, there are really great metal bands, it's very short. It's not a week of the sea and four days ago. And there are so many other fun things to do, like all the karaoke thing we're going to try and throw away
"I do not know if it's going to happen very well, but let's try: we will try to find a presentation band that makes songs of Megadeth and that people leave there and just sing."
Then he shared his hopes on how the cruise will go: "I want to make sure that if we leave and leave the sea, if anything happens to anyone, that the program continues.
"What people will say:" Do you know what? This is a trip so incredibly full of value that it is fine if one of the bands can not make a second show. "I want to make sure that people move away," this is the best thing. "

Singled Out: Broken Lens by Sonny Elliot
The British music duo Sonny Elliot has just released its new "Broken Glasses EP" and to celebrate we ask Chris Peden to tell us about the title song. Here's the story:
When writing Broken Glasses, I was trying to find the right balance to tell a sad story, but with a feeling of positiveness and distress still present. We all had moments in our lives where someone we love is not in the best way and I wanted this song to be there for them. I wanted it to be realistic too, because people often say "do this or do it and be happy" when it's not that simple. Sometimes, all you can do is be there for someone, help them in any way and wait for them to find peace with their problems. You can not disguise the underlying sadness with the self-help quotes and overcome the attitude towards the people who suffer. People need people and we want the message to appear in "Broken Glasses."
Writing the song really came pretty fast, but it was the musical arrangement that took its time. We never want you to feel something compelled, so finding a music part that sounds naturally can be much harder than it may necessarily appear. I remember that we tried many different guitar ideas until we felt we had something we added but did not distract the rest of the song. We record at home so we can let a song develop organically over time because we have no time restrictions that can be a drawback if you start thinking about things, but in the end you have just found that "thing" that clicks and makes you think what have you gotten that
The audience is believer. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen to yourself and learn more about the album
