Varna. The number of patients with acute respiratory disease in the area this week increased 7 times more than the previous one. This was announced FOCUS Radio – Varna of the Regional Health Inspection (RHI). In the period between 2 and 8 November, 198 people diagnosed with acute respiratory diseases in the city and area reported epidemiologists against 26 cases from the previous week. Most are affected by colds and viral infections in the group from 5 to 14 years, followed by children under 4 years of age. There are only four cases of people aged 64 and older. This week, two people confirmed the diagnosis of the flu and 26 patients developed flu complications and acute respiratory diseases. Four were treated by bronchitis and another 22 were pneumonia. Ten less than last week they are affected by airborne infections. According to data, 27 people have chicken pox, viral meningitis and scarlet fever. 19 cases of intestinal infections have been reported against 24 in the previous week, with intestinal infections presenting 13 enterocolitis, 2 hepatitis, 1 rotavirus enteritis and 3 colinectinitis.
