Our guest today is the new McLaren Speedtail, a hyper-sports vehicle that combines art and technology in perfect proportion.
This new and exclusive copy of the house of Woking (United Kingdom) stands out for its limited edition to the same 106 units built of the McLaren F1, a hybrid condition (gasoline and electric motor), the fastest tram built up to this day by McLaren and in a special way, for its unit price that surpasses the 2 million dollars, without taxes.
However, unfortunately, Colombians with enough economic power to buy this expensive "toy" will have to look for another option, as the hundreds of McLaren Speedtail units, which begin to be delivered after 2020, have been allocated and paid. 2 years when its future manufacture was announced.
Formula One cars are undoubtedly the best laboratory for the development of elements and systems that are implanted on street vehicles.
The best example of this is the new McLaren Speedtail, which inherits much of the aerodynamic technology and design of McLaren F1 cars.
The above can be seen in a large, lightweight body of 5,137 meters in length and only 1,430 kilograms of weight, built in carbon fiber and aluminum, where aerodynamics prevail over any other concept.
Among the many successes of the exterior design of this elegant hyper sports stand out the clean and fluid lines "born" in the advanced wind tunnel of McLaren, where this aerodynamic figure was obtained that gives the penetration of the air of Speedtail and the vertical aerodynamics (down force) necessary to "squash" against the ground at high speeds.
Another detail of obligatory mention is the minimalist design of the body absent from any ornament or accessory, such as mirrors and handles, for example.
We can not "enter" into the futuristic McLaren Speedtail booth without highlighting its attractive "tail", sharp and inclined wedge shape.
This elongated section is adorned with a pair of active fins (spoilers) and 2 immense and geometric diffusers with aerodynamic intention from where the oval and sports exhaust tubes arose.
When opening the doors of the "butterfly" (opening and running) of the Speedtail we find a luxurious cabin, where carbon fibers prevail, before and minimalism almost absolute.
The first highlight of the McLaren Speedtail passenger compartment is the ingenious and unusual configuration of three chairs, which leaves the lucky pilot a little ahead of their two companions, in the same central and dominant position of an F1 pilot.
Another highlight is the good visibility offered by the generous glassware, where the sloping and immense front windshield stands out, equipped with an electrocromatic system that obscures the upper part with a touch of button.
With respect to the buttons, it is necessary to mention the absence of controls, buttons or buttons different from the few available in the airplane ceiling console from which the changes of speeds are operated.
Another forced review item is the enclosed instrument cluster occupied by three LED displays, which show the entire operation of the vehicle and two other side panels that work as virtual mirrors. This pair of screens reproduce the ones that come with retractable rear-view cameras, which are hidden in the McLaren Speedtail wheel arches when the engine is off.
