The ELN delivered in the last hours the survival test of engineer of the oil company Ismocol, Rafael Andrés Riaño, who kidnapped in the department of Arauca on January 13. Even hours ago, his luck was totally unknown.
The only thing his family knew about it was that ELN had it in the Venezuelan territory, and this for information that the government itself gave. Consequently, they could not reach the area where they remain in captivity for their rescue. When her sister, already anxious, found news of her brother at Saravena Park, two people on a motorcycle approached him and took him to the outskirts of the city, where they gave him a USB stick with a survival test.
"The message is for my family, to tell them that I love them very much, here begins to value the moments that leave them aside, I want to thank my brothers, I know they paid attention to me," says Rafael in the test video delivered by the group guerrilla to their families
Guarded by two guerrillas, wearing a dark blue t-shirt and a lid, and having a ELN flag in the background, Rafael said that a few days ago he had the possibility to access the message sent by one of his brothers and said that he is physically fit
"I was well, do not worry, the migraine problem that worries that I was well, I received medication, physically I am well and I received good treatment fortunately," said the engineer in the video, also asking the patience of your relatives.
Meanwhile, Jorge's relatives wait for their early liberation and argue that in recent months the guerrillas have told them that they would only eliminate the captive engineer until Ismocol removed their shares from the oil pipelines in the area.
It should be recalled that the ELN also has been under the control of the former governor of that department, José Leonardo Ataya, the current director of the Public Services Company, since last March in the Department of Arauca. About him, he says he was also taken to Venezuela.
