The team of the Ministry of Health of the Province, through the Directorate and Immunizations, continues with the national campaign for monitoring against measles and rubella 2018, which began on October 1 and will continue until November 30 throughout the country. To date, 64,299 children received triple viral doses, that is, 88 per cent of the target population, which is 73,108. Corrientes is located, as well as the second province of the country with the best coverage in this campaign.
In the capital, mobile vaccination applies the triple viral from Monday to Friday in Plaza Vera, from 9 to 12 and from 17 to 20 to children from 13 months to 4 years. In addition, the doses will be applied in all the health centers with vaccination of the province.
The Director of Immunization of the Province, Angelina Bobadilla, reported: "We have reached 88% of the population that must be vaccinated." He also noted that "children who have not yet been vaccinated have time until day 30 of this month to do so because this year there are no extensions to access vaccination. Vaccines are available throughout the province in all vaccines in health centers."
Bobadilla said that "we received the visit of the Nation's technical team, they evaluated each province to have a nationwide statistics on the scope of the campaign. We already covered 88% of the total population. We asked parents who have not yet vaccinated their children to arrive to our vaccinations ".
Argentina managed to eliminate the endemic circulation of measles and rubella. However, these viruses continue to cause disease in other countries.
The permanent mobility of people creates a risk of reintroduction of these viruses in the country. Vaccination is the most effective strategy to prevent these diseases.
