How many times do you change the towels? It's probably too weird, because the towels are much dirtier than you think. The problem is not the visible trace of dirt, but the invisible bacteria. They are collected in the towel as in a trap. However, no one has to be afraid of the huge amount of germs. The body is configured to live in peaceful coexistence with a multitude of microbes.
It is dangerous in the bathroom and in the bathroom, because the hands come in contact with feces. Thus, coli bacteria and salmonella are taken to the towels. Escherichia coli is one of the most common causative agents of infectious diseases. In the dark, humid and warm middle of the bath, the germs multiply magnificently.
Charles Gerba, a microbiologist from the University of Arizona, found in a study that almost 90 percent of the towels are contaminated with coliform bacteria and about 14 percent even with Escherichia coli. Most people do not wash so well that it has a disinfectant effect. The bacteria survive and rub with the remaining moisture in the towel. "If you dry it in the towel after two days, you probably get more bacteria from Escherichia coli on your face that put your head in the bathroom," said Charles Gerba.
It's enough two days
Your advice: frequent and complete washing. Towels in kitchens and bathrooms must be changed and washed after about two days. Especially when young children live in the home. When they begin to smell the towels, they definitely hang a long time. Microbiologist Philip Tierno of the New York School of Medicine states: "You should not use a bath towel more than three times." And it's just completely dry in the middle. Because: "A wet towel begins to live".
Bacteria do not like when the towel dries in the middle. If you have a heated towel rail, you are on the safe side. In any case, you should give them towels the opportunity to dry and spread them and not hang them ruined.
Only genuine 60 degree help
A normal outfit is not enough to clean. A wash temperature of 30 or 40 degrees makes the discomfort difficult. We must also remember that most machines are being washed at a lower temperature due to energy consumption than is in the program. The Stiftung Warentest has already been demonstrated years ago, as manufacturers cheat. Instead of the set of 60 degrees, wash only with 50 or 45 degrees. In the test, none of the 14 machines actually reaches 60 degrees. It must be "real" 60 degrees for towels and underwear. Fast washing usually works at the specified temperature. Detergents for the kitchen cycle and disinfectants have a stronger effect, but are not necessary in everyday life. I should not leave the towel too long in the laundry dirty, because even then, the germs continue to thrive.
There are no shared towels
Even with a loaded towel, it will not immediately come to an infection. But who regularly uses "mature" towels, it will eventually use even if you have minor skin injuries or skin abrasions. And then the danger of infection increases. And, of course, the danger also increases when it comes into contact with the germs of other people. A person's house is more protected than an apartment in which different people use towels. Before the sharing of towels, Hygiene professor Philip Tierno warns: "When the towel is shared with others, it also comes into contact with the organisms that the body can not tolerate, such as boiling, pimples or even infections."
