Google Camera ported to Razer Phone 2; drastically improves the images

Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are currently the best smart phones on the market. Since smartphone cameras are not only limited to the hardware they use, but also to the software they feed, it has been shown that the reason behind the impressive photos in Pixel 3 is the Google Camera application. Since the launch of Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL last month, developers have been striving to bring the new version of the Google camera application to other smartphones to see how it behaves against the camera action application. The last device to be part of this exercise is the Razer Phone 2.

Since most of the source image sensors of smartphone manufacturers for their devices, both from Sony and Samsung, depend on the same microprocessor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 in the case of emblematic devices, it is quite difficult to create a differentiating experience. To make your device stand out from the competition, smartphone manufacturers tend to use improved software algorithms to process the image and a different application port. Although it is not easy to bring Pixel 3 image processing to other smartphones, it is easier to access the camera application.

The Google camera application that was seen on Razer Phone 2 was found to dramatically improve the image experience. The captured images with the camera action application on the Razer Phone 2 are not the best in the business, but they are not bad either. However, the Google Camera app attached to the smartphone brings drastic improvements in terms of image quality, reports XDA Developers.

It immediately emphasizes that Google image processing works to get more details in the shade and highlights, which are compressed by the camera action application. The Google Camera application also retains more details, which could be fed by the multiple frames it captures in a single exposure. The Google camera application was transferred to several emblematic and mid-range devices and was found to offer a profound change in image quality.

Watch: Google Pixel 3 XL Hands-On

It is necessary to see if Google makes the default camera application available for non Pixel devices as a way to help users capture more data and better images. However, this seems unlikely since it would kill the reason for the existence of Pixel smartphones.
