The secondary elections were necessary after Yeddyurappa (Shimoga) and Sriramalu (Bellary) and CS Puttaraju of Janata Dal (Secular) (JD (S)) resigned as deputies in their election for the assembly in May this year.
There are a total of 31 candidates in the fight in the five electoral districts. A total of 54,54,275 voters are eligible to cast their votes in approximately 6,450 police stations. The number of votes will be on Tuesday.
