WDid you say the mortal gums are bored? With nearly two thirds of the Grand Prix of Brazil done, Max Verstappen had run superbly and his Red Bull team had made his strategy. Despite starting in fifth place, the rhythm of the Dutch race in an excellent first period put him in dispute over the victory.
In lap 40 passed to Lewis Hamilton by the leader. Before that he had overtaken the Mercedes of Ferraris and Valtteri Bottas of Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel. It was an advance masterclass in a car that ranked almost half a second by the break.
Soon it seemed that the Dutch followed his Mexican triumph with another in Brazil, taking his account to three during the season. But that ended his collision with Esteban Ocon on lap 44.
The couple came out when the Force India driver tried to open one to two. Both cars shot, Verstappen lost Hamilton's lead and suffered significant damage to the floor of his car.
Verstappen was, understandably, angry. He labeled Ocon as a "idiot" on the radio of the team and then faced him and pushed him into the cooled room. Both drivers were summoned to the commissioners by the altercation. For the ongoing incident, Ocon, who finished the 15th, received an important stop of 10 seconds. Verstappen, for the altercation after the race, received two days of public service at the direction of the FIA.
