Gardaí arrested three men and apprehended an estimated value of € 13,500 of drugs after searching for 29 facilities in the Munster region today.

"The focus of the operation today was the collection of information and involved up to 100 members of An Garda Siochana," said a spokesman for Garda.

"Assistance was also given by officials from the Customs Revenue," they added.

A total of 8,000 euros in cash was seized during the raids of planned guards in Cork, Limerick and Tipperary.

Garda spokesman said it was "part of an ongoing operation for the sale and supply of medicines in the southern region."

"Gardaí arrested three men in their 30s and seized about 13,500 euros of suspected cocaine and cannabis herbs and 8,000 euros in cash following searches made on November 9, 2018," they said.

Gardaí from the divergent drug unit of Limerick, assisted by local units and Garda's dog unit, executed the search orders in a total of 29 establishments in Limerick, Tipperary and Cork.

Gardai made a total of "nine detections for possession of drugs" and "approximately € 7,000 of cocaine and € 6,500 of cannabis herb (pending analysis) were seized."

"The three men who were arrested are currently detained at the Stations of Henry Street and Bruff Garda, according to Section 4 of the 1984 Criminal Justice Law," said the spokesman.
