LAHORE – The head of Jamaat-i-Islami, Sirajul Haq, invited the government to explain its position regarding the presence of Aasia Bibi in the country and the Israeli MIT recognition proposal of PTI.
Addressing a press conference in Mansoora, he said that if Aasia had already been sent abroad, this would mean that this was something previously planned and that the procedures of the Supreme Court were only a formality.
The chief of JI said that to end the disturbance and commotion among the masses in the Aasia case, the government should immediately submit a petition for review before the courts and the whole court of the Supreme Court should hear the matter.
He also demanded the immediate revival of a special cell in the Ministry of Religious Affairs at Tahafuze Namoose Risalat.
He impressed the government to move a formal request to the International Court of Justice for the launch of the Dra. Aafia Siddiqui.
The head of JI impressed the government to move a resolution before the UN from the OCI platform to declare a profane knowledge of the Messenger of God.
He said that so far, no sensible action arose from the government over the problem of Aasia. He said the matter was not dead.
He said intolerance among the masses was the result of government policies and decisions. He said that the parties and the elements that never respected the decisions of the Supreme Court also criticized the reaction of the public on the issue of Aasia.
He said that in the past, the Supreme Court and also the PTV have been attacked and the railroad has been eliminated causing billions.
The head of JI said the government was not informing the media if Aasia Masih was inside the country or had been sent abroad.
He said an undeclared censorship had been imposed on the media. The media were free to show vulgar and obscene programs, tasting rides and fashion shows, but the million marches arrested regarding the protection of Nalamoso Risalat were not allowed.
Sirajul Haq said that a great march of Hurmat and Rasool will be held in the capital of Punjab on November 15 in which all religious parties would participate.
Meanwhile, the participation of the head of JUI-F Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Thursday was doubtful due to health problems. Maulana Fazl had planned to attend and run the march.
