The raffle of the 32nd African Nations Cup (CAN) 2019, which retreated on Friday night at a dazzling ceremony in front of the pyramids in Cairo, was the Moroccan national team in Group D, along with teams from Côte d'Ivoire, South Africa and Namibia.
The new edition of the African Cup, which will take place in Egypt from June 21 to July 19, has a special nature, as it will be attended by 24 teams and will take place next summer, instead of the usual date at the beginning of anus.
The tournament, which has 24 teams for the first time, will be classified for the first two places of each group until the end of the first round of the second round (the round of 16) and the first four teams of the first three. The rest of the tournament will play for the playoffs.
Group A: Egypt – Democratic Republic of the Congo – Uganda – Zimbabwe.
Group B: Nigeria, Guinea, Madagascar, Burundi.
Group C: Senegal, Algeria, Kenya, Tanzania.
Group D: Morocco, Côte d'Ivoire, South Africa, Namibia.
Group E: Tunisia, Mali, Mauritania, Angola
Group F: Cameroon, Ghana, Benin, Guinea Bissau
The draw was co-sponsored by Anthony Baffo, Deputy Secretary General of the African Football Confederation (CAF). The old figures of Moroccan soccer Mustapha Hajji, Senegalese Al Hadj Diouf, Al Masri Ahmed Hassan and Ivorian Yaya Toure participated in the raffle.
