Not only obese and passive people are getting sick with diabetes: Aisthe said he is 18 years old with this disease

Every second person in the world with diabetes does not know that he has this disease. Lithuania has more than 100,000 people with diabetes. According to doctors, because of type 2 diabetes, a person does not feel symptoms, therefore, a regular check should be made.

The inspection should be especially obese, poor use of unhealthy foods, little movement. However, the first type of diabetes can even cause new, thin, and healthy people. This was reported in the DELFI TV studio.

Aiste Jakimavičiūtė-Bikauskei is currently 28 years old and suffers the first type of diabetes for 10 years.

"During these years he has experienced all kinds of things: intimidation at school, lack of understanding of school personnel, but also new technologies adapted to deal with this disease," said Aistė in the department of television of DELFI.

– Education is particularly important in matters related to health. I.e. We can eat the disease when we understand it, otherwise we can not do anything. Diabetes is a very malignant disease because today I do not feel bad, but after 20 years it can end up really sad, so it is very important to talk about it. That's why I want to share knowledge with the people who have acquired me. "

Elva Ramaškien, a Eurovision pharmacist, says that the whole diagnosis of diabetes in the family is changing: diet, regime. "Not only for a person diagnosed with the disease," says the pharmacist.

What is diabetes and what are the different types of diabetes?

According to Aistes treated with diabetes, the most common myth is that diabetes becomes ill due to the excessive management of candy in childhood. "People think diabetes is directly related," says Aiste.

The VUL Santaros clinic, Endocrinologist Modesta Petravičiūtė, said that diabetes mellitus is a disease in which blood glucose is present.

"The pancreas produces an insulin hormone that regulates blood glucose. It reduces blood glucose by transferring it to the cells and thus receives energy. When there is diabetes mellitus, insulin does not have any insulin in the first type of diabetes or its Absent lack. The first type of diabetes is a disease that affects the pancreas and not insulin, says the endocrinologist.

– Type 2 diabetes usually occurs due to obesity, as well as if you live ill, without moving. When body weight is high, insulin resistance develops in the body. This means that the cell needs more insulin to allow glucose entry. The person needs a normal contraction less, and an obese person needs more. As a result, at first, the person still feels good because the pancreas produces too much insulin because he needs more.

Finally, the function of the pancreas disappears at a certain time, the insulin diminishes and then the second type of diabetes develops. Both the first and the second case of diabetes are due to genetics. It is a complex disease, determined by both genetic and environmental factors. "

The doctor says that it is not known exactly why people develop the first type of diabetes.

"Think differently: the virus, the genetics, but the exact cause is not known. There is a genetic predisposition, but it is not known exactly why it develops," says the doctor.

According to the doctor, the risk factors for the second type of diabetes are altered: they begin to exercise (it is recommended to move at least 30 minutes a day to increase the heart rate), a balanced diet and adjust the level of cholesterol in the blood. When weight falls, blood pressure also decreases.

The pharmacist E. Ramaškienė says that the first type of diabetes is difficult to detect in these days; However, the first symptoms should be checked:

  • headquarters;
  • frequent urination;
  • weight loss

Prevention of type 2 diabetes

The earlier the person with type 2 diabetes is diagnosed, the better. "The symptoms last up to a few months before patients are forced to go to the hospital, they are resuscitated and diagnosed with a disease," says Dr. Petravičiūtė,

When it gets worse, the flavor of acetone feels in the mouth.

"In adults, the symptoms seem lighter, they do not pay attention to the children as it is, reason why sometimes it is advisable to verify prophylactically the levels of sugar in the blood. It is thought that people have an increase in the glucose in the blood, but that there is diabetes and that the disease can be avoided. In this case, medications and diet are adapted, says the endocrinologist.

"At first, health can still be cured, but having a second type of diabetes, as in the first case, you will need to have insulin and the like. There is no way back," says Aiste, a diabetic patient.

"As you know, 80% people with type 2 diabetes die from cardiovascular disease, because everything is very neglected," says E. Ramaškienė.
