KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 12 – Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng is not sold completely that Malaysia's most sought after man, Jho Low, is not in China.
Lim said that the Chinese ambassador to Malaysia said the runaway financier did not enter the republic using his Malaysian passport.
"I spoke with the Chinese ambassador in Malaysia and he was sure that, according to his records, he did not enter China based on the Malaysian passport," he told his transmitter BFM Breakfast grill program today.
Lim added that China is also cooperating with Malaysia to look for the low-priced Low Taek Jho.
But the minister said that the Penang-born is a cunning man who has repeatedly granted the authorities the slip.
"Of course if you have a different passport with a different name, then it's a different story. But according to his records, Jho Low, Malaysian, is not in China.
"So we hope this is the real situation and, if it has somehow slipped into the defense authorities, it will also help us identify and locate," said Lim.
He added that the government is still looking for Low, before requesting the country in which he is residing to extradite him.
