Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar was tied to Chelsea in recent weeks, but it seems that Arsenal maintains the advantage of his signature when it comes to the race.
The 20-year-old made a great impression on Ligue 1 since they joined the first team at the Stage Groupama in February 2017 and some of the best European clubs were mentioned in relation to the future movement of their services
Liverpool is believed to be very interested in Aouar and, as reported, has been tracking for over a year.
In the midst of reports that Maurizio Sarri is "desperate" to attract the girl to the west of London, RMC Sport in France claims that Blues "oversaw" in recent weeks and is in the "good books" of the director for the future.
But the attacking midfielder could be tempted by another club in the capital?
Well, the previous comments on the Gunners striker, Alexandre Lacazette, could see that the boy made a transfer to Emirates Stadium if the opportunity arose.
"I started training with professionals for two years," Aouar told the Associated Press, according to Daily Mirror. "Lyon already had a new team at the time, not as young as this year, but there were still many new players, youth team players.
"I was lucky, I received a lot of help. Alexandre Lacazette took me under his wing.
"Alex told me a lot, he pointed out the things that he needed to work, notably my auction. We worked hard on that.
"Mapou Yanga Mbiwa also has been important to me, and even so it is. I speak with him a lot, and the fact that you have these best players is really helpful."
With Aaron Ramsey ready to leave Arsenal for next summer, he will need to be replaced and Unai Emery must sign one in the middle of links to Pablo Fornals and Manchester United of Villarreal Juan Mata in the last weeks.
But could he return his attention to Aouar? If so, Lacazette could play an important role in convincing the midfielder to join him in the Emirates.
