He affirmed that professors "are fighting for our common cause, they are fighting for the quality of education and the quality of society."
At the same time, Trzaskowski emphasized that although the education and organization of the exams are the responsibility of the government, as local government officials, "the capital authorities (PAP) are in the lead, that when the government is inefficient, it assumes some responsibility" .
The representative of the Union of Polish Teachers Sławomir Broniarz said during the demonstration that the protest lasting five days is a sacrifice not only for teachers but also for administration and all school service.
We know how many teachers will lose this concierge, cleaner, chef as a result of this strike. We will do everything to compensate it at least in part. "
He also stressed that "the leadership of the union decided that it would not quench and that we would not end up with the strike."
The head of the NAP reported that the account of a specially created support fund already has PLN 2,200,000. Among people who donate to professors, Broniarz mentioned, among others, actors, referees, directors or writers.
Collected funds should be assigned to strikers who do not belong to unions. "There are 400,000 people who have trusted us, who are on strike and also need support. Trade unions will have to manage their own funds," he said.
