The Warsaw Provincial Court has announced the verdict of the well-known singer Dorota Rabczewska-Stępoń, who was accused of insulting police officers.
We talk about events from March 23 to 24, 2013. After two Warsaw police officers tried to "experience violence by Dorota Rabczewska-Stępoń and Marta B.". On Thursday, the provincial court issued a verdict following the call of a famous singer.
– The provincial court has carried out the appropriate procedure in this case. He thoroughly analyzed all the tests, objectively evaluated, and with this basis he reached the correct conclusion that Dorota Rabczewska-Stępień committed insult to the police, said Judge Wanda Jankowska-Bebeszko.
In the justification of the verdict, he indicated that the appeal could not be effective due to the unilateral and selective indication of evidence that is beneficial to the defendant and that the testing processes were carried out with "care above the average."
– Discrepancies and contradictions were explained, and the officers were questioned with inquisitiveness (…) The defendant received a broad response to the charges (…) The provincial court took into account all the circumstances and the provincial court did not see errors that were exposed in appeal – Judge Wanda Jankowska-Bebeszko argued, which also pointed to the lack of grounds to assert that "the testimonies of the accused, police officers and witnesses were assessed incorrectly."
It is an argument of defense that indicated the copy of the content of the hearings of the official note. – It can not be agreed with the accusation of defending critical delivery with the credibility of the police in relation to their allegations of insult by Dorota Rabczewska-Stępień – said Judge Jankowska-Bebeszko.
At the same time, he pointed out that the witnesses pointed to the vulgar words they heard. – These were the names of the voices of these women: they had to testify.
The court also did not share the artist's argument that he was not sure he was dealing with police officers. – After returning to the facility, when the accused reported on the incident of people who remained there, he talked about the police officers. There was talk of police officers, not robbers dressed as policemen – said the judge.
It also awarded 50 zlotys of the accused for the benefit of the Treasury as expenses and PLN 100 for resources.
The verdict is final.
As reported by TVN24 reporter Ewa Paluszkiewicz, during the announcement of the verdict, there was no "Dody" or its defender in the room.
Disturbing silence at night
As the prosecutor's office was established, the singer and his acquaintance had to upset the night with the malignant night. One of the neighbors called the police. Two officers who appeared on the spot wanted to identify women. It was then when the artist and his friend attacked the police.
Dorota Rabczewska-Stępień was about to hit the police with his wallet on the back. Both were supposed to "use words commonly considered abusive".
In February 2014, the Public Prosecutor's Office presented an indictment record in this case. Women were threatened with up to three years in prison. In July 2018, the Warsaw Provincial Court-Mokotów acquits the singer in allegations of violation of the inviolability of the officer. However, the procedure against the insults of the police officers interrupted conditionally during the annual period of the trial. The artist's lawyer filed an appeal on the case.
A well-known singer Marta B. was acquitted of committing the alleged acts.
The conditional discontinuation of the accusation of insulting police means that the court has confirmed that such an event occurred, but in light of the law, Dorota Rabczewska-Stępoń was not condemned for that act. Therefore, it remains a non-criminal.
As the singer's lawyer informed us, she accepts the publication of her personal and image data.
