This day brings to the public about the methods of prevention of diabetes, symptoms, risks and information on how it can be kept under control for people diagnosed.
What is the theme of World Diabetes Day this year?
The theme of World Diabetes Day 2018 and 2019 is "Family and Diabetes", a campaign aimed at drawing attention to the effects of this serious illness between children and young people. Because this condition does not show clear symptoms, only careful monitoring is revealed, so the test is very important. We need to be aware of what each type of diabetes means, because life time means an opportunity to live.
There are about 2 million people suffering from this chronic disease in Romania and the number of people in the world has increased considerably in the last 30 years, to more than 366 million and another 280 million are prone to the disease.
Most of them suffer from type 2 diabetes, which is based on obesity and sedentary lifestyle. It is not surprising, since more and more people adopt an unbalanced lifestyle due to the excessively busy and stressful program.
According to last year's statistics, more than 199 million women around the world suffer from diabetes and more than 2 million die from complications caused by this condition. Around the world, about 4 million people die of diabetes.
