Ukraine and Slovakia go for another UEFA Nations League match on Friday, November 16 – Slovakia, Ukraine to cross swords in UEFA Nations League tonight

Ukraine and Slovakia go for another UEFA League League match on Friday. The game is to kick off in Trnava, Slovakia, at 9.45 p.m. Kyiv time.

The Round 5 fixture is now a mere formality for the Yellow-Blues. Andriy Shevchenko's men scored nine points in Group A, becoming a group of undisputed leaders and qualifying for the next stage of the competition.

In this game, Pavel Hapal will debut as the head coach of the Slovak national team. The manager and the squad may be eager to have some revenge on Ukrainians who won the first leg against Slovakia.

Last month, Ukraine claimed 1st place in UEFA Nations League Group 1 in League B, as Andriy Shevchenko's squad defeated Czechs. The 1-0 win in a home game in Kharkiv's Metallist Arena let Ukraine get another three points, which made it possible for the team to climb to the top of the group's rankings.

The UEFA Nations League is a biennial international football association competition to be contested by the senior men's national teams of the member associations of UEFA, the sport's European governing body.

The first tournament began in September 2018, following the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The four group winners from League A will qualify for the finals, to be played at a yet to be decided European city in June 2019. Four nations, one from each League, will also qualify for the final UEFA Euro 2020.

The competition will largely replace international friendly matches currently played on the FIFA International Match Calendar.
