Bratislava, November 5 (TASR): The SND opera will be hosted on Wednesday, November 7th at the home theater of the successful English baritone Simon Keenlyside as Rigoletta on behalf of Giuseppe Verdi. TASR informed Izabela Pažitková, the secretary of the SND.
Simon Keenlyside, native of London, has won several prestigious awards for his outstanding performances, including the Olivier Award (2006), ECHO Klassik (2007) and the 2011 Year Award for the best vocalist year.
Rigoletto and Don Giovanni belong to the favorite characters of Simon Keenlyside. The latest appointments of artists include the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the State Opera in Vienna, the Scala in Milan. In addition to the scenes mentioned above, he is a frequent guest at the State Opera of Hamburg, Covent Garden in London, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich and other world festivals. Simon Keenlyside has not played in major concert venues, has worked with many renowned orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Vienna Philharmonic and the Berlin Philharmonic, as well as the Czech Philharmonic under the baton of conductors known as Sir Simon Rattle, Edward Gardner, Christian Thielemann, Riccardo Chailly or Richard Hickox. For the first time, Simon Keenlyside will play in Slovakia, at the SND Opera in the production of Verdi Rigoletto, directed by Martin Schüler, the prominent German creator, the main character of this opera drama.
Including Rigoletto's opera inspired by the Victor Hugo drama of Giuseppe Verdi The King is entertaining. The characters of the main characters portrayed so majestically that he had been censored before work and condemned the issue because he was immorally immoral. Verdi works with the librettist, but without commitment, went through censorship for reason and, instead of the evil king, assigned the role of the Duke. Rigoletto is a court judge who helps his master Duke Mantua love adventures, not knowing that his beautiful daughter, Guild, will become the victim of a mild desire.
Under the baton of Martin Leginus on November 7 in other tasks will be presented by Ľubica Vargicová (Gilda), Ludwit Ludha (Vojvoda), Peter Mikuláš (Sparafucile), Denisa Hamarová (Maddalena), Jitka Sapara-Fischerová (Giovanna), Sergej Tolstov ( Monterone) other artists.
