Madrid, November 16: Uruguayan poet Ida Vitale is the recipient of this year's Cervantes Prize, the most prestigious literary award in Spanish. As the jury founds, the 95-year-old poet is a representative of essentialist poetry, inserted in the tradition of the Latin American avant-garde, which is defined by short poems and looking for the meaning of the words and the metallic character.
