Geneva / Kampala. Ebola virus, which threatens life, continues to spread in the Congo in central Africa and neighboring countries have been alarmed. In Uganda, 1,600 people are being vaccinated at health centers along the border, said health minister Jane Ruth Aceng on the weekend.
Suspicious Ebola cases have already been reported from southern Sudan, Uganda and even Yemen, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported. But in any case it was really an infection by Ebola.
Approximately 12 million people were tested on the border portfolios of the Congo for signs of Ebola. There were 14 suspected cases, one of which the virus was detected.
According to the Congolese Ministry of Health, from the beginning of August until the end of October, 250 people were infected with certainty, and 35 others probably with the Ebola virus. 81 patients recovered, 180 patients died.
The UN is alarmed by the growing number of Congo cases. WHO chief Adhanom Ghebreyesus travels to Congo this week. He is also accompanied by the head of the UN peacekeeping Jean-Pierre Lacroix. (AP)
