Superman has made many enemies over the years, but it is possible that the largest of the group is Lex Luthor, who uses his brains to deal with the brawn of Man of Steel. These two have the same adversarial relationship within the world Supergirl, but while Superman had already appeared a few times in that TV show, Luthor, out of a backward movement towards his childhood, has simply been referred several times. However, it was announced last month that the adult Lex will eventually appear Supergirl At the end of this season, and today it has been revealed that it will not be another Two and a half men star of Jon Cryer.
Lex Luthor by Jon Cryer will debut in episode 15 of Supergirl Season 4, and this will be a recurring role. No specific details were revealed about this version of Lex, but we can expect him to be a formidable enemy not only Supergirl, but also his adoptive sister, Lena, who has been one of the main characters of the show since the Second Season.
Interestingly, this will not be the first time that Jon Cryer immerses his toes in Superman mythology, since he previously played Lenny Luthor, nephew of Lex Luthor in 1987 Superman IV: The search for peace. He also contributed to the DC Comics media scene by expressing Felix Faust in an episode of Action of the Justice League.
Out of the comic media, Jon Cryer is best known for his role as Phil "Duckie" Dale in the movie written by John Hughes Cute in pink and starring Alan Harper in the CBS series Two and a half men. In recent years, his notable credits included guest roles NCIS e The Ranchand recently involved the production in the next film Big Time Adolescence, where he starred with Pete Davidson.
Jon Cryer joins a long list of actors who portrayed Lex Luthor live. In the television realm, the bandit has already been played by Scott James Wells and Sherman Howard Superboy, John Shea in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and Michael Rosenbaum in Smallville. On the silver screen, Lex was taken to life by Gene Hackman in three of four directed by Christopher Reeve Superman movies, Kevin Spacey in Superman Returns and Jesse Eisenberg in the DC Extended Universe. Lex is also defined as one of the main characters in the DC Universe series Metropolis, which is still under development.
In the beginning of Supergirl In the second season, it was revealed that Lex Luthor was fulfilling 32 consecutive life sentences, but even though he was trapped behind bars, Lex is still big in the series. For example, when Lena Luthor reinterpreted Luthor Corp as L-Corp and changed the company's direction to banish Lex's crimes, Lex sent John Corben, the future Metallo, to kill her. The imprisonment of Lex is also what led his mother and Lena, Lillian Luthor, to pursue revenge against aliens, but fortunately, Lena chose to go a different path.
It has also been noted that no Supergirl Continuity, Superman and Lex Luthor started as friends (similar to their relationship in Smallville), but when Lex's methods became too brutal and the hero of Kryptonian saw multimillionaire with industrial chrome for the man he really was, then they became opponents. It is not clear if we will really see that Superman and Lex Luthor interact within Supergirl, although you can bet, there are many fans who want to see this. Tyler Hoechlin will play Superman in the upcoming Arrowverse crossover "Elseworlds", which will be presented to Lois Lane by Elizabeth Tulloch.
Although there is a difference between the older age between Jon Cryer and Katie McGrath that shows the girl Lex and Lena in the flashback episode of Season 2 "Luthors", Jon Cryer is definitely an interesting option for Lex. Cryer is possibly best known for his comedy shows, but his fingers crossed the Lex's special threat channel channel in this most dramatic scenario.
One can imagine that Lex Luthor by Jon Cryer will be in some way linked to the main villain this season, Ben Lockwood, a.k.a. Agent Liberty, who leads a violent movement against aliens on Earth. The Liberty agent had been working with Mercy and with Otis Graves, both previously worked for Lex, but were killed in the most recent Supergirl episode, "Ahimsa". If Liberty is already in communication with Lex or they will form an alliance later this season, or even if Lex has its own moving plans separated, considering that Lex hates aliens and their past with Superman, it would not be wise SupergirlThe protagonists of underestimating it.
If there is one thing that comic book fanatics have discovered over the decades on Lex Luthor, it is that it takes more than power to bring it down. Granted, this definitely helps, but there are cases where one has to overcome him, as difficult as it can be. With this in mind, Supergirl will Lena as an ally will be more useful. While Lena is not in good standing with the superhero of Kara Zor-El (he still ignores that Kara and Supergirl are one and the same), the two women are still working together to protect the innocent, reason why Lena can be the key to frustrate the which Lex planned.
Bringing Lex Luthor is just one of the ways Supergirl is deeper into the family this season. One of the characters this year is Nia Nal (played by Nicole Maines), the latest CatCo reporter who will soon become the Dreamer superhero and, in the future, we will find her Maeve sister (played by Hannah James) and her mother Isobel (played by Kate Burton).
I can not help but wonder if the appearance of Lex soon means that we will soon meet again with Lillian Luthor of Brenda Strong. She was locked up for her crimes and claims to turn her back on a new sheet, but if Lex has something in the works and ends up breaking Lillian out of prison after he escapes (assuming that this happens), then maybe she will have a change heart and return to your sinister paths.
