Alicia Machado, Miss Universe 1996; Dayana Mendoza, Miss Universe 2008 and Stefanía Fernández, Miss Universe 2009, commented on Wednesday about the situation in Venezuela, specifically in the attempt to enter humanitarian aid on Saturday February 23 in the program A new day of Telemundo

"I am very affected by what I saw and lived in Cúcuta (…) On the side they burned several trucks and no of them managed to pass, it was in the Simón Bolívar Bridge and the repression was brutal. They fight for the freedom of their country and with great hunger," said Fernández.

In that sense, he said that the message is the unit to keep focus. "No one said this was going to be easy, the road would be difficult, but we can not feel demoralized," he said.

Meanwhile, Mendoza expressed that he feels constant indignation over what is happening in Venezuela; However, it feels "light at the end of the tunnel". "Maybe things do not happen as we want, it may take some time, which I hope is short, to achieve freedom," he added.

In the same way, Machado accepted with his colleagues and said that he helps his relatives who are in Venezuela sending medications from Miami. He indicated that he will remain "on the sidelines" because he believes that any statement can be misunderstood.
